What makes the incarnation great?

What is the difference between the infinite and the finite? The difference is infinite.

The infinite is the source of all happiness and of everything. It is the divine nature. The finite, all that is created, is limited. We, as humans are created and thus limited.

But something occurred: Christ incarnated. He became human so that we could become (partake of) God. We could share in his Divine nature.

Christ is the bridge between the finite and the infinite. He does so in his Divine hypostasis or Person. This is one of the truths that Christianity brings.

Truth has a face and is a Person. What a claim.

This is called the Hypostatic Union. It took many councils to define it.

So Christ becomes the bridge. Christ is human, and God. It is his hypostasis that unites both.

I have been thinking about this over the last few days. It is incredible to meditate on.

As Christians, we find the resolution of the opposites in Christ. The ultimate and final oppositional relationship, the Infinite and Finite, is found in completely resolved Him.
